Whoosh flip, click

I love my new slippers.  My Mom got them for me for Christmas.  They are a shocking hot pink and black print featuring Hello Kitty.  They are boot style slippers and they are the warmest things in the world.

When I was in labor with my first son, I felt the gigantic epidural needle enter my spinal cord and at the same time, my feet went cold... and they haven't warmed since.  I get some brief moments of normal temperature, but for the most part, they're cold.   Alot of times, I'll have to partially fill the bath with hot water to get the chill out.  It is what it is.  But now I have the slippers.

The best thing about the slippers besides the warmth, is the "whoosh flip, click... whoosh flip click... whoosh flip click...   The same sound that my Nanny's slippers made when I was a kid.  Hers were way fancier than mine.  All of Nanny's slippers were fuzzy and had a slight heel on them.. They were so Hollywood and awesome.  She also had minks in her closet.  And Shakespeare on her shelves.  So fancy, that Nanny was.  I loved her so much.

All of that warm fuzzy memory can flood my mind from just the simple "whoosh flip, click."
