Liebster Award

Winner winner, chicken dinner!

 I just learned yesterday afternoon that I am one of the most recent recipients of the prestigious Liebster award!!  Ok, maybe not so prestigious, but it still feels good.

It was awarded to me by a cousin of a friend of a sister of myself--- who passed a note during recess that said that someone saw her at 31 flavors....  and that she was going to give me the Liebster award.  Her name is Erin.  She has a heartbreaking blog about her family's struggles as they fight the man and the big banks from foreclosing on their dream house.  Erin once worked in the fashion industry in NYC and lived the good life.  Then she met her one true love and left it all behind to move to the country and start a family and live out their fairytale together.  When the economy crashed, so did their dreams.  She mixes the good with the bad, the highs with the lows in her often cozy, sometimes angry blog of her life.  Thank you Erin!

 Liebster means "dearest" in German. The Liebster award is given to up and coming bloggers, who have fewer than 200 followers.

There is no evaluation committee or formal award process for the Liebster. It is however, a gift of recognition that a fellow blogger has noticed and appreciates your hard work, and wants to award you by sharing your works with others. 

There are just a few rules that come along with the Liebster Award. They are as follows:

* Thank your Liebster Award presenter on your blog.

* Link back to the blogger who awarded you.

*Reveal your top five blog picks, who fit within the award parameters.

* Inform them that you have chosen them by leaving a comment on their blog.

* Post the award on your blog.

I have a problem though.  I only read a few blogs-- and Erin already named some of them as Liebster recipients, so I can't re-award them. (I was informed that would be against the rules)  But I do have one that I will present for now, and when I come across four more that I think should be recognized, I will revisit this post and update it.  My sincerest apologies for not being able to comply with the rules... I'll start reading more right now!

This is a blog written by my cousin.  She just started it recently- partially at my urging. My sister pushed me to blog as a form of therapy, and it helped so much. So I figured it might help my cousin in the same way.   If you think that I have some uphill battles ahead of me, just wait until you read her stories.  She's a single mother dealing with a deadbeat baby daddy that set her up years ago to take the fall for his ebay scams which led to her arrest and her legal battles that go along with that.  Some crazy, unbelievable stories...
