John's criminal trial is still going on. I don't really know any details about it. He doesn't tell me anything, and even if he did, I wouldn't know what to believe anyway. The only reason I know it's still going on is because I got the following text from him this afternoon: (this is word for word)
It was very difficult to hear attorney read statement in court that "his wife left him because of his excess gambling and drinking- according to detective Caddigan." So, not to worry- Im sure that little bit of testimony won't bury me too much!
So, I suppose this is John's way of telling me that if he is convicted, that it will be all my fault? My reply to him was:
"He had a lot of questions for me and I was honest with everything. I don't recall discussing drinking with him, but it's possible. It was a long time ago, and he called a lot."
And that's the truth. From the very first time Detective Caddigan contacted me, I was completely open and honest with him. I answered all of his questions honestly and held nothing back. The way I see it, if you're not ready to do the time, don't do the crime.. Because if a cop questions me, he or she is going to get the truth.
