This month is the last month that I have to send John a portion of the monthly check that I receive from the sale of our bar- yay! Not too long ago, during a civil conversation with him, he said that he'd like to help with some of the expenses from the boys' schools and activities.
So yesterday, I sent him a copy of the boys' school supplies, as well as copies of the tuition bills- R is going into prek-3, so his is not free, J is in kindergarten, which is free, but taikwondo is not. Shockingly, he never replied to these texts. So last night at bedtime, I sent him a text stating that I was taking his silence as a sign that he does not want to contribute. He got all pissy and said that I have no right to jump to conclusions just because he hasn't had time to reply yet. He went on to point out that from time to time I don't return his calls or messages right away either, and that he didn't hold it against me. I agreed. He was right.. sometimes people are just busy and forget to check messages. That's fair.
This is where he went on to rant about how he is trying every day to change and make better choices, yadda yadda yadda... and he finished with, "I hope I can put off (this month's) payment. I want to help! I'm really trying!"....
To which I replied, "When you say, 'put off payment', you're implying that I would eventually give you money. I didn't ask you for a loan. I asked you to contribute to the boys' bigger expenses. But just forget it. I'll figure it out like I always do."
And that's that. So tomorrow, I send the fucking leach his last check and can finally stop any and all associations with him and money. Stupid douche.
